Educational visit to the Folklore Museum

The teachers of the school Periklis Christou (Computer Science) and Marina Karvouni (English) organized an educational visit with the students of the 1st grade of the school to the Folklore Museum of Ioannina. Before the educational visit they prepared the students, divided them into groups and distributed worksheets (In Greek – embroidery / jewellery / objects) made by English teacher Karvouni Marina.

They gave them instructions for completing the sheets and explained that from the collection of data and photos they will take in the museum they will create a video together with the Computer Science teacher Pericles Christou.

The students showed great enthusiasm and eventually responded with great willingness and interest and worked as a team on the day of the visit collecting the data they were asked for.

The Principal then conducted group interviews with all 3 sections of the A class that participated in the visit. The students were satisfied with this way of organizing visits and even asked the Principal to repeat other educational visits in this way. In particular, some pupils said that they were impressed by the fact that in this way they felt that they were “talking” with the exhibits and did not remain passive spectators, as had happened in previous visits to the secondary school.

Some other students made suggestions for educational visits, for example they expressed the desire to visit the photography exhibition “The photographer George Seferis” hosted by the Municipal Gallery of Ioannina.
