The Globe Theatre
The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare’s playing company, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, and was destroyed by fire on 29 June 1613. A second Globe Theatre was built on the same site by June 1614 and closed in 1642.
A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named “Shakespeare’s Globe“, opened in 1997 approximately 230 metres from the site of the original theatre. (info via this site)

This is a very interesting video about the Globe. You can see the theater from the inside.
And this is the trailer of the film ‘Shakespeare in Love’, which won many Oscar awards. It is about young Shakespeare and his first great love. It’s an exciting movie with beautiful costumes, humor and excellent performances!

I agree, Alex. Visiting this theater is an amazing experience! Unforunately, I didn’t watch a performance…
You are very lucky that you did.
Looking forward to my next visit! Maybe together?

This is an amazing theatre Miss L,
thank you for posting the very interesting info and videos!
I’ve actually watched a famous Shakespearean play there, “Hamlet”. It was not in its classic version though…
the characters were ‘transported’ into the modern world. Still, it was really exciting. And too many years ago..!
I think I definitely need to relive the experience! 🙂
