Non-fiction books

Non-fiction books are books that do not narrate stories. This is why Present Simple and Present Continuous are often used. Non-fiction books give information or describe how things work. For example, physics books or books about animals.

Which non-fiction books do you know of?

Listen and read to the extract from the book “What to look for in Spring – A ladybird book” by Elizabeth Jenner (2020.)

“After the cold and dark of winter, new life can be found blooming in he woodlands. Plants are responding to the increase of sunlight and warmer temperatures, pushing up fresh green shoots and bursting into flower… Beneath the leaves, things are just as busy. As the weather gets warmer, spotted red ladybirds wake from the winter sleep. They become more active and start to search among the new green leaves for aphids to eat.”
