Sonnet 18 is one of the best-known of the 154 sonnets written by English poet and playwright William Shakespeare. The sonnet is a poetic genre that follows a fixed verse form and consists of 14 lines. Shakespeare’s sonnets are the absolute poems that delve into the nature of love, passion, death and time.
In fact Britons have chosen this famous sonnet as the most beautiful poem ever written in a survey carried out for the UK’s National Poetry Day in October 7, 2021.
