My name is Dimitris. I was born in Athens but for the past 6 years I have been living in Nafplio. It was a major decision I made because I realized that life in Athens was too hectic. Despite the fact that Athens is the place to advance professionally, I decided to move to the country in order to enjoy a quality of life. Life away from Athens might lack some comforts but the ser
enity and the pace of life, co
mpensate for any discomforts.
I have to admit that I was lucky because my job helped me to move to the country. I am a teacher. I teach Electronics at the Technical High School in Nafplio. Except for this, for the past three years I have been working on my master’s degree which is studies in education. It is a five year program and a very demanding one. Thus, I devote most of my time studying for it.
Two years ago I met my wife here in Nafplio, who shares the same ideas. This April, Danai and I got married and we are happy with the lifestyle we have chosen. I am grateful because I have a companion that is above all my friend and confidant, someone who understands my needs. We try to give each other the appropriate space, so as not to feel trapped or less independent.
We like traveling and very often Danai and I go on excursions, to get away and see new places. Unfortunately, because of the economic crisis we are forced to economize, since our salaries have suffered major cutbacks.
