Cape Elizabeth

Τα κομμάτια “Maine”, “Close Behind” και “A Troubled Mind” ξεχώρισαν ιδιαίτερα. Το Cape Elizabeth θεωρείται σημαντικό βήμα που οδήγησε στην ωριμότητα του ήχου του στο Stick Season.

~Maine~
Tell me, loverNow that you made your changeWas your soul rediscovered? Was your heart rearranged? Are you still takin’ pills in the mornin’?And did you lose that longin’ nowFor a walk through an ocean town?‘Cause this town’s just an ocean now
You don’t hate the summersYou’re just afraid of the spaceAskin’ strangers for answersTo forget what they sayA boat beside a dock in the sunlightAnd nothin’ but the water and the sunrise nowJust the lack of an open mouth‘Cause this town’s just an ocean now
BadI miss this place, your head and your heartAnd my dadStill tells me when they’re playin’ your songsLaughin’ at the way that you would say“If only, baby, there were cameras in the traffic lightsThey’d make me a starThey’d make me a star”
I wanna go to MaineMm, mmI wanna go to MaineOh
BadI miss this place, your head and your heartAnd my dadStill tells me when they’re playin’ your songsLaughin’ at the way that you would say“If only, baby, there were cameras in the traffic lightsThey’d make me a starThey’d make me a star”
Hm, I wanna go to Maine (mm)Ooh-ooh, oh (mm)I wanna go to Maine (mm)Mm, God (mm)
Tell me, loverOnce you’ve had a change of heart‘Cause we’re no more than the fossilsOn Crescent Beach State Park, and weUsed to sing along to church bells on SundaysAnd can you even hear ’em from the subway now?And I hope that we make you proud‘Cause this town’s just an ocean now

Troubled Mind
I told you, love, if you could see it through my eyesYou’d understand my fear of everything in sightI know I’d quickly sell my heart for some adviceOn how to ease a troubled mind
My brain’s a dog asleep that I cannot let lieCloudy head, though I can’t find a single silver liningGuess there is no hope for me in sightTo ease this troubled mind
I worry for the sun, yes, I worry for the snowI worry I’ll die young while I worry I’ll grow oldOh, I worry for the time I spent worrying aloneIt makes me sadIt takes me backI break in halfAh-ooh, I break in half
I took a bus out to the city where you liveEaves dropped on strangers’ conversations with their kidsIn hopes that maybe they’d say something relevantTo ease my worried head
Well, every mile that passed just amplified my fearI started counting all the times I saw you last yearAnd suddenly it all became so clearIt was sadly making sense
I worry for the sun, yes, I worry for the snowI worry I’ll die young while I worry I’ll grow oldOh, I worry for the time I spent worrying aloneIt makes me sadIt takes me backI break in halfAh-ooh, I break in half
I worry for the sun, yes, I worry for the snowI worry I’ll die young while I worry I’ll grow oldI worry for the time I spent worrying aloneIt makes me sadIt takes me backI break in halfAh-ooh, I break in half
I told you, love, if you could see it through my eyesYou’d understand my fear of everything in sightI know I’d quickly sell my heart for some adviceOn how to ease a troubled mind
