WHO IS THE MYSTERY PERSON?

Read the following clues and guess the name of the famous person we are looking for.

Born in 1879, Ulm Germany, he was to become the most celebrated scientist of the Twentieth Century. His theories were to lay the framework for new branches of physics. He also became well known as a humanitarian, speaking out against nuclear weapons – weapons he had indirectly contributed towards creating. Although, he is one of the undisputed genius’ of the Twentieth Century, his early teachers found him dim and slow to learn. Part of the problem was that he expressed no interest in learning languages and learning by rote that was popular at the time.

He was an American singer, musician and actor. He became one of the most influential cultural icons of a generation. He is commonly referred to as the “The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and epitomizes the post-war pop generation.

She was a Roman Catholic nun, who devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need. In 1979, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and has become a symbol of charitable selfless work. She was beatified in 2003, the first step on the path to sainthood, within the Catholic Church.

He was a South African political activist who spent over 20 years in prison for his opposition to the apartheid regime. He was released in 1990 and, in 1994, was later elected the first leader of a democratic South Africa. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his work in helping to end racial segregation in South Africa. He is considered the father of a democratic South Africa and widely admired for his ability to bring together a nation, previously divided by apartheid. He is one of the most admired political leaders of the Twentieth and Twenty First Century for his vision to forgive and forge a new ‘rainbow’ nation.
