Η δράση μας φιλοξενείται στην ιστοσελίδα SCIENTIX STEM DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN 2024
Somewhere in the school yard the teacher has hidden a mission card that asks the children to search and find in the yard search in the yard wooden sticks, leaves and small stones. After they have collected all the natural materials, the teacher places them on the ground and the students move around them while listening to music. When the music stops, each student chooses an object (stick, stone or leaf) and finally three groups are formed, the “stones”, “sticks” and “leaves”, depending on the material chosen by each student. Each team is assigned a mission-game 1) “Sticks” are assigned to play Tic-Tac-Toe using cards and stones as “Xs” and “Os” Group members are divided into pairs. Each pair chooses either cards or stones to play. In each pair, one member instructs the other to place the object in the correct position to make a tick tock. Starting from the top left square one gives instructions, such as “put the stone two squares to the right” or “put the card one square back, etc.” The other member of the pair follows the directions and places the object accordingly. 2) The group called “The Leaves” must compose a pattern For each element of the design (stick, stone or leaf) the group decides on a representative sound or movement. For example: instead of saying “leaf” students can twirl, instead of saying “stone” students can bow and finally they can jump instead of saying “stick”. Students work in pairs again. One makes the correct move and the other chooses the correct object for the drawing. Which team will manage to form the correct pattern? When the pattern is composed they decide on a representative movement for each material. For example: when they hear “Leaf” they spin, when they hear “stone” they can bow, and when they hear “stick” they can jump. member of the group reads the pattern and the rest of the students move according to the representative movements. 3) The group called “Stones” is given a picture of a little man made of 4 sticks, a leaf and a stone. Team members are divided into two pairs and stand back to back. One pair looks at the picture with the little man and gives verbal instructions to the other pair to build it with the natural materials
