Greece-1o Nipiagogeio Voulas- Getting prepared for Holly Week

As Easter approaches we started preparing ourselves for Holy Week. A visit to the neighbor church was a perfect idea that became even better with the company of grandparents of our students. They were perfect volunteers and kids were totally proud having their grandparents  in our school team. We all walked carefully to the church where the priest talked to us for Christ’s Passion.

After coming back to school, we had time to get prepared for the “Easter candle workshop”. For this event it was parents’ turn to participate. We arranged all the ornaments in a …buffet in our schoolyard and when parents arrived, we begun creating with them! 60 Easter candles got decorated and also 60 smiles were shining under the flourished trees of our school garden!

Greece-1o Nipiagogeio Voulas- A visit from Theurapetic Carousel miniature horses….

This was the first time that we received a visit from gentle Carousel miniature horses in our school. Two therapeutic miniature horses arrived at school accompanied by their patrons who explained to us  the  way that these horses make people who suffer feel better. They also taught us how to take care of them. At the end the Carousel miniature horses stood as models  so that kids could draw them!

France-Ecole Maternelle Saint Exupéry Marly le Roi – Creations with the local artist Karine Bascle

On the 11th of April, 26 pupils aged 5 years old went to the park near our school to create with a local artist Karine Bascle. They could experience the feeling of being an artist for few hours by painting in a real studio. The class was divided in two. One group painted large pieces of cloth to create huge snail. Once the snail is finished it will decorate our playground for our school open gates.
The other group went into the park to collect natural elements to create land art.

Greece – Primary school of Vouliagmeni – Students against violence in Europe

Our European partners visited also the Primary school – Dimotiko – of Vouliagmeni where Mrs Sofia Kakatsi, Mrs Tina Karaleka and the headteacher of the school Mrs Alexandra Stathopoulou organized a cheerful welcome in their school, where they presented us their European project “Students against violence in Europe”. It was a great exchange of European projects and ideas!

Greece-1o Nipiagogeio Voulas- Meeting students from our neighbor school!

Our Erasmus + program impelled us to exchange good practices with other schools and so we did. We arranged a visit to 1st Dimotiko Sxoleio Voulas where we “realized” a sightseeing tour to Greek islands together with the students of 5th grade and their teacher Mrs Christina Anastasaki. They presented their power point project and we narrated the story of Icarus who flew from Crete by wearing wings. We all felt much more connected after this experience.

Greece-1o Nipiagogeio Voulas-Open air theater near an ancient temple by the sea…can this be true?

What a unique combination…Our European partners, our students, few of their mothers, and us admired, under the clear sky on the Astir beach, some Greek ancient myths from  the theatrical company “Eleftheri theatriki spoudi”. The scenery was splendid: The ancient temple of Apollonos Zostiros from 6th century BC…Our spirit travelled to the past, our soul rested by the sea. This was an excellent experience for all of us!

Greece-1o Nipiagogeio Voulas- Training Event in Greece – Our partners are welcome in Voula!

Our dear partners from Estonia, France, Italy and Romania are finally here and we were all very happy to welcome them in our schoolyard! We had prepared a celebration full of songs, European words and the animation of the Greek mythos of Daedalus and Icarus through our giant hand made book. Few parents came to this celebration offering traditional sweets to our European group and applauding this precious collaboration. Later in that evening our training event took place in our school where 50 teachers from other schools came to learn different educational techniques from our partners. Mrs Feggerou, our Pedagogical Consultant, Mrs Vorylla, the coordinator of Environmental Education Programs of Eastern Attica and Mrs Karayianni the coordinator of English lesson practices had supported the event with their presentations about Erasmus+ . All the participants received pencils and note sheets with the Erasmus+ logo!
