On 10th December 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
On 10th December 1964 Martin Luther King Jr was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent campaign against racism.
Since 1950 10th December has been universally celebrated as Human Rights Day to safeguard the protection of fundamental Human Rights.
