The word «Halloween» is an abbreviation of the «All Hallows Evening», that is the evening before the feast of Saints, which is November 1. It originated with an ancient Celtic festival when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. So our school dressed up and celebrated Halloween in various ways!
