Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton (1608–1674). The first version, published in 1667, consists of ten books with over ten thousand lines of verse. A second edition followed in 1674, arranged into twelve books (in the manner of Virgil‘s Aeneid) with minor revisions throughout.[1][2] It is considered by critics to be Milton’s major work, and it helped solidify his reputation as one of the greatest English poets of his time.[3]
Easter Island
Easter Island (Rapa Nui: Rapa Nui, Spanish: Isla de Pascua) is an island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle in Oceania. Easter Island is most famous for its nearly 1,000 extant monumental statues, called moai, created by the early Rapa Nui people. In 1995, UNESCO named Easter Island a World Heritage Site, with much of the island protected within Rapa Nui National Park.
William Blake
Songs of Innocence and of Experience[1] is an illustrated collection of poems by William Blake. It appeared in two phases. A few first copies were printed and illuminated by William Blake himself in 1789; five years later he bound these poems with a set of new poems in a volume titled Songs of Innocence and of Experience Shewing the Two Contrary States of the Human Soul. William Blake was also a painter before the songs of innocence and experience and made paintings such as Oberon, Titania, and Puck dancing with fairies. (from wikipedia)

“The Bermuda Triangle”
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels reportedly disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of ocean.
The boundaries of the triangle cover the Straits of Florida, the Bahamas and the entire Caribbean island area and the Atlantic east to the Azores. The more familiar triangular boundary in most written works has as its points somewhere on the Atlantic coast of Miami; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, with most of the accidents concentrated along the southern boundary around the Bahamas and the Florida Straits.
The area is one of the most heavily traveled shipping lanes in the world, with ships crossing through it daily for ports in the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands. Cruise ships are also plentiful, and pleasure craft regularly go back and forth between Florida and the islands. It is also a heavily flown route for commercial and private aircraft heading towards Florida, the Caribbean, and South America from points north.

Το πρόγραμμα υλοποιήθηκε με σκοπό να αποκτήσουν οι μαθητές ερεθίσματα πάνω σε θέματα που τους απασχολούν καθώς και να έχουν τη δυνατότητα να μιλήσουν και να εκφραστούν πιο διεξοδικά, χωρίς την να τους πιέζει ο διδακτικός χρόνος. Οι μαθητές παρακολούθησαν μια σειρά από επιλεγμένες ταινίες που είχαν στόχο να τους προβληματίσουν, ή (κατόπιν συνεννόησης με άλλους καθηγητές) να εμβαθύνουν πάνω σε θέματα που πραγματεύονται τα σχολικά βιβλία και να τα προσεγγίσουν βιωματικά.
Οι πλειοψηφία των ταινιών που προβλήθηκε συνοδεύτηκε από φύλλο εργασίας για τους μαθητές του προγράμματος με σκοπό να καθοδηγήσει και να διευκολύνει τους μαθητές στην επίτευξη του επιδιωκόμενου αποτελέσματος. Το φύλλο εργασίας είναι στα αγγλικά προκειμένου να βοηθήσει τους μαθητές να χρησιμοποιήσουν την ξένη γλώσσα αυθόρμητα, μέσα στα πλαίσια της πραγματικής επικοινωνίας. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι η ταινία προλογιζόταν κάθε φορά από τους υπεύθυνους καθηγητές, παρέχοντας στους μαθητές το κατάλληλο πλαίσιο συζήτησης.
Όπου υπήρχε διαθεματική προσέγγιση, η λέσχη ήταν ανοιχτή σε περισσότερους μαθητές και στην τελευταία περίπτωση έγινε απλά συζήτηση χωρίς να δοθεί φύλλο εργασίας.
