Every year, October 31st is one of the most exciting times at our school. We wear masks, play games, visit other classrooms, and go trick or treating! It’s a fun way to learn about other cultures and celebrate in a playful way.

What is Halloween?

Halloween is celebrated on October 31st and comes from an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain. A long time ago, the Celts lived in parts of Europe. On this day, they celebrated the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. People believed that on Halloween night, strange things could happen, so they dressed up to scare away bad spirits!

Jack o’ Lantern

One of the most famous Halloween symbols is the Jack o’ Lantern – the smiling (or scary!) face we carve into pumpkins.
But did you know it started in Ireland?
A man named Jack was so tricky that he wasn’t allowed in Heaven or Hell! He used a glowing coal in a turnip to light his way in the dark. When Irish people moved to America, they used pumpkins instead of turnips — and that’s how the Jack o’ Lantern was born!

Halloween Colors

Have you noticed that Halloween is full of orange and black?
🧡 Orange is the color of the autumn harvest.
🖤 Black reminds us of the dark winter nights and spooky stories!

🎉 At our school, Halloween means fun, creativity, and learning. It’s a time to enjoy, explore new traditions, and have a great time with our friends and teachers!
