Soil filtration: the students filtered water containing soil using coffee filters and cotton. We had to repeat the process 3 times to achieve a clear result. Oil separation: the students filtered water using various tools and materials such as paper, cotton, syringes, sponges. We also focused on our local ecosystem, specifically the Kalloni Lesvou Wetlands and the Alikes. We conducted an experiment simulating the evaporation process in the salt pans, demonstrating how water evaporates to leave behind pure salt. During the process, the students made predictions, recorded their observations and drew their own conclusions. They realized the critical importance of preventing water pollution and understood its devastating consequences on nature.
