How to make a christmas cracker

A Christmas Cracker is a cardboard paper tube, wrapped in brightly coloured paper and twisted at both ends. There is a banger inside the cracker, two strips of chemically impregnated paper that react with friction so that when the cracker is pulled apart by two people, the cracker makes a bang.

Each person takes the end of the cracker and pulls. Or if there is a group around the table, everyone crosses their arms to pull all the crackers at once. Everyone holds their own cracker in their right hand and pulls their neighbour’s cracker with their free left hand.

Inside the cracker there is a paper crown made from tissue paper, a motto or joke on a slip of paper and a little gift. It is a standing joke that the mottos in crackers are unfunny, corny and often very well known, as the same jokes have been appearing in crackers for decades!

Crackers can be made from scratch using empty toilet rolls and tissue paper: the maker can then choose small personalised gifts for their guests.

Αιτήσεις για ένταξη στο Μητρώο Επιμορφωτών του ΙΕΠ για την Υποστήριξη της Πράξης «Επιμόρφωση σε πρακτικές υποστήριξης των μαθητών και των μαθητριών στο πλαίσιο της Διαφοροποιημένης Διδασκαλίας (Δ.Δ.)»

Προκειμένου να διασφαλισθεί η μέγιστη δυνατή συμμετοχή των εκπαιδευτικών, το ΙΕΠ κάνει γνωστό ότι το Μητρώο Επιμορφωτών του ΙΕΠ για την Υποστήριξη της Πράξης «Επιμόρφωση σε πρακτικές υποστήριξης των μαθητών και των μαθητριών στο πλαίσιο της Διαφοροποιημένης Διδασκαλίας (Δ.Δ.)»θα ανοίξει ξανά αρχές Ιανουαρίου, προκειμένου να υποβάλλουν νέες αιτήσεις υποψήφιοι που δεν εντάχθηκαν σε 1η φάση στο μητρώο επικαιροποιώντας τα στοιχεία τους, καθώς επίσης να υποβάλλουν αιτήσεις και νέοι υποψήφιοι.

Το σύστημα για την 2η φάση υποβολής αιτήσεων θα παραμείνει ανοιχτό για τουλάχιστον 2 μήνες.

The winter solstice

For people in the Northern Hemisphere (above the Equator, like the United States), winter is a season of cold, dark days—and if you’re lucky, lots of snow to sled on!

The winter solstice marks the exact moment when half of Earth is tilted the farthest away from the sun. It usually happens on December 21 or 22, at the exact same second around the world.

Because less sunlight reaches Earth, the winter solstice is also the day of the year with the least amount of daytime, known as the shortest day of the year. But the good news is that every day after the winter solstice will be a little longer, until we reach the day with the most hours of daylight. Called the summer solstice, it usually occurs between June 20 and June 22.

For people who live in the Southern Hemisphere, though, the winter solstice takes place in June. That’s because the seasons are reversed below the Equator. For instance, in New Zealand, it can actually snow in July!

Μη αναγνώριση μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου

Ο Δ.Ο.Τ.Α.Π. δε θα αναγνωρίζει πλέον τον τίτλο PROFESSIONAL DOCTORATE IN ENGINEERING (χώρα απονομής Ολλανδία) ως ισότιμο προς τα μεταπτυχιακά διπλώματα ειδίκευσης( από το εαρινό εξάμηνο και εφεξής). 

Μόνιμοι διορισμοί στην εκπαίδευση

Προθεσμία από τη Δευτέρα 23/12/2019 ως την Τρίτη 7/1/2020

Υπεγράφη σήμερα από την Υπουργό Παιδείας και Θρησκευμάτων, Νίκη Κεραμέως, και την Υφυπουργό, Σοφία Ζαχαράκη, η πρόσκληση μελών Ειδικού Εκπαιδευτικού Προσωπικού (Ε.Ε.Π.) και Ειδικού Βοηθητικού Προσωπικού (Ε.Β.Π.) για μόνιμο διορισμό σε κενές οργανικές θέσεις σχολείων Πρωτοβάθμιας και Δευτεροβάθμιας Ειδικής Αγωγής και Εκπαίδευσης.  

Συγκεκριμένα, καλούνται 388 μέλη Ε.Β.Π. και 653 μέλη Ε.Ε.Π., 1.041 στο σύνολο, που είναι εγγεγραμμένα στους τελικούς αξιολογικούς πίνακες κατάταξης του ΑΣΕΠ 2019 και επιθυμούν, να υποβάλουν αίτηση και δήλωση προτιμήσεων περιοχών μόνιμου διορισμού, από τη Δευτέρα 23/12/2019 ως την Τρίτη 7/1/2020.
