ΕΝΑ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙ ΠΑΛΙΟ ΑΛΛΑ ΔΙΑΧΡΟΝΙΚΟ “If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next” από τους Manic Street Preachers

ΤΑΙΡΙΑΖΕΙ ΚΑΙ ΣΤΟ 2023

Μια ματιά στον κλασικό αντιφασιστικό ύμνο των Manic Street Preachers και τη συνάφειά του 

“If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next”,             Αν το ανεχτείς αυτό, τότε τα παιδιά σου θα είναι τα επόμενα.

Από την πρώτη ματιά δεν φαίνεται προορισμένο να είναι ένα τραγούδι που θα βοηθούσε το συγκρότημα να πετύχει το πρώτο του νούμερο ένα στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και να αυξήσει τη λατρεία του σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Αλλά τότε ποιος δίνει πραγματικά σημασία στους στίχους των τραγουδιών; 

Τραγούδια όπως το «Every Breath You Take» των The Police και το «Hotel California» των The Eagles είναι αγαπημένα,

επιλέγονται συχνά για τον πρώτο χορό στους γάμους, και παρόλο που η νύφη και ο γαμπρός

μπορεί να ξέρουν όλες τις λέξεις που πρέπει να αναρωτηθείτε αν έχουν ποτέ πραγματικά δώσει προσοχή στους στίχους.

Έτσι, αν δεν δώσατε προσοχή την πρώτη φορά, είναι ίσως πιο σημαντικό από ποτέ να υπενθυμίσουμε στον εαυτό μας το αντιφασιστικό συναίσθημα πίσω από το τραγούδι.

Το τραγούδι είναι για τον αγώνα κατά του φασισμού κατά τη διάρκεια του Ισπανικού Εμφυλίου. 

Ο τίτλος είναι παρμένος από μια τρομακτική αφίσα που διανεμήθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια του πολέμου,

την οποία δεν έχω σκοπό να αναπαράγω εδώ λόγω της φύσης της. 

Παρουσιάζει ένα παιδί που λέγεται ότι σκοτώθηκε από τις φασιστικές δυνάμεις του Φράνκο και χρησιμεύει ως η πιο συγκινητική προπαγάνδα.

Το τραγούδι  εμφανίζεται στο άλμπουμ This is My Truth Tell Me Yours , 

οι στίχοι του ταγουδιου είναι:

Caro Emerald – A Night Like This

Μαγικό, vintage λάτιν και τζαζ εμπνευσμένο τραγούδια με σύγχρονη λάμψη.
