Chimamanda Adichie: «The danger of the single story»

Κάτω από (Αρχική) από στις 15-07-2017

The young Nigerian writer talks about stereotypes and the danger lurking behind the definitive description of a person, a situation, or even a country, she describes as the «single story».

She argues about how we are all immersed in single stories which create such biased perceptions that it is impossible to think about them otherwise. Then the stereotype becomes «the only story».

«Many stories matter because they can be used to empower and humanize», thus they answer back to the totalitarian imposition of our «recognizable worlds».
