Game Jam 2021

The Office of #American_Spaces American Spaces in the Department of State: Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) is launching its inaugural Global MakeCode Arcade Game Jam 2021 in partnership with Microsoft Education on November 29. The three-week event will run through December 17, during which students worldwide aged 12-18 will work solo or in small teams to brainstorm, design, and build new video games focused on the global climate crisis. The theme – which is embargoed and will not be announced publicly until November 29.
The #Game_Jam is centered around Computer Science Education Week (CSEW, December 6-10), which brings computer science and video game coding opportunities to students and educators across the world. Interested educators and facilitators may sign up for training on the Global Game Jam 2021 website to learn how to run Game Jam activities; these live training sessions will be offered twice in November before the Game Jam officially starts. Each Game Jam participant will receive a certificate from Microsoft Education. Games developed during the Jam may be featured by Microsoft Education on its website and social media properties.
