As a school devoted to inclusion, multiculturalism and diversity, we reached the conclusion that getting involved in an Erasmus+ Project would be extremely beneficial for both teachers and students. As we stated previously in the project description, working with European partner countries facing the same problems, exchanging good practices, working strategies, achievement goals, is the key stone we feel it’s missing today. Furthermore, if we take into account that social inclusion is one of the main priorities the European Commission has, we feel that the project is fully justified. Being inclusion and diversity the main challenges schools are facing in Europe in the 21st century, we also feel strongly about the need to carry out this project and we believe that it should be funded. The topic of multiculturalism is also included since we believe that learning about other cultures and cooperating with schools from very different cultural realities will increase the motivation and will broaden the mind of both students and teachers. Our main objectives are exchanging good practices and working methodologies in the fields of multiculturalism, inclusion and diversity. We aim at motivating teachers and pupils, improving their performance and fostering their feeling of belonging to Europe. The final objective is to have a real impact on the schools involved and to combat school leaving and failure in education. We also plan to have an impact on local organisations by disseminating our project´s results, materials and products. We hope to inspire future teachers to get involved in European programmes and we want to contribute to the development of schools in the long term. We plan to create, in each of the countries, a real dynamic around DMI. There will be 5 schools participating in the project. The coordinator will be the Spanish organisation, which has a wide experience in the topics or diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion. The other participants will be schools from Portugal, Italy, Greece and North Macedonia. The partners were chosen because of their commitment and motivation to participate in the project. We also took into account the profiles of the institutions to include them. We looked for schools with a great diversity of students. We searched for schools located in problematic areas or where inclusion of students with special needs or fewer opportunities is very important. Furthermore, these are institutions from very different cultural backgrounds, which we think will be a really enriching and motivating experience. The students will be able to participate in 4 mobilities accompanied by teachers. The activities will combine formative workshops about the topic DMI, and cultural and integration activities that will take place inside the schools and outside the institutions. In addition, there will be two mobilities just for teachers: one at the beginning and one at the end of the project. These will be learning and teaching activities, which we think will benefit to a large degree the improvement of methodologies, coordination between the partners and the smooth functioning of the project. We´ve also created a timetable of activities that will take place locally and which will include preparation, selection of participants, evaluation, creation of materials and dissemination. We also plan to combine physical mobility with virtual exchanges through eTwinning. The portal will be used as a means to contact the project
partners, create e-classrooms connecting students, a means for the dissemination of project results & the assurance of the sustainability of the project. In addition, students can keep in contact via a safe social platform in accordance with data protection. We also intend to use School Education Gateway to offer job-shadowing opportunities linked to the mobility of the project. We will ensure that access to the final product & project results be uploaded & presented on the Erasmus+ project Results Platform & that they will remain open for all visitors to read and use. In addition, the same will apply for disseminating the results which will also be available on TwinSpace, Facebook & partner schools’ websites & any project blogs which will continue as active sites in future years, even after the end of the project. The tasks and responsibilities will be shared by all the participating institutions. The methodology will be based on cooperation and sharing of information and results. For that, fluid communication through internet will be assured and also through the LTTA´s that will be carried out. Finally we expect the project to have an important impact on the participating schools, improving methodologies, boosting the inclusion of students with fewer opportunities and avoiding failure in education. We will carry out dissemination activities to ensure the long term benefits on the participating schools and on local institutions and to ensure sustainability in the future.
