Kato Milia High School is situated in the North-Western part of the Pieria prefecture in Greece. It is a public school which welcomes students, between the ages of 12 and 16, from 8 different villages of the area.
It is considered to be one of the largest and best organized schools in the area. Our students have the opportunity to enjoy all sorts of facilities (gym, computer and science lab, library, etc.) and participate in various programs and activities (environmental, social studying, career guidance etc).
The main core subjects, such as language, literature, mathematics and science, are obviously taught in Greek but our students are all taught the English language. Moreover the knowledge of a second foreign language is mandatory so our students can choose either German or French.
Our students are keen on sports, traditional dancing and they are involved on a regular basis in extra-curricular activities and interdisciplinary projects such as environmental activities, sports events, newspaper editing, health awareness programs, photography, art and English-recipe writing. All these programs are supported technically by the students’ satisfying knowledge of computer studies. Furthermore, as our area is very interesting in terms of mythology, history and tradition, students are encouraged to organize and participate in several study trips and excursions.
The Kato Milia High School prides in its teaching staff with its experience and expertise who urge the students to excel during their school years and in their later-on lives. The efficient co-operation between students and faculty has been recognized and honored throughout the years with several school awards.
