This is my wish for 2020 (and for the rest of our lives) – Whatever happens to you – never give up!

Life is unpredictable! No matter how good you are, or how well you have prepared for something, you may fail. Man plans God laughs says an old Yiddish proverb. But this athlete, who must have felt great pain, did not want to give up. He wanted to finish what he was there to do (not everybody has the chance to take part in the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games after all).

He wanted to finish, but could he? His father sensed that he wouldn’t have enough stamina to do it and managed to pass through security (this doesn’t seem very easy – it was the Olympics as you already know) to help his son. And what he did next was even more amazing. Before the finishing line, he left the runner finish the race on his own – it was his challenge after all!

So, here is what we learn from that story:

• Never give up
• Don’t be afraid to show your weakness
• Accept help from those that love you
• Always finish what you have started
• Keep focused on your goal and try to achieve it
