European Day of Languages – and Beyond
An eTwinning project about languages, values and connecting children.
Our school founded and coordinated the European eTwinning project “European Day of Languages – and Beyond“, which started with a call to European partners to celebrate the European Day of Languages on 26 September 2024, via video conference. The project developed into an annual collaboration with schools from Romania, Italy, Portugal, Georgia, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, France, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Madeira Island (Portugal), Jordan and Spain and concluded in May 2025 with the Europe Day celebration.

The European Day of Languages etwinning project Online Meetings
We gave life to the project and each month we meet online to celebrate a World Day. We aspire to follow a common track and achieve the European dimension in our schools.
Videoconferences:
26 September 2024 :We Celebrated the “European Day of Langages” on the 26th of September. Our school, Tegea Primary Scool (Greece) hosted the online meeting on the zoom platform. The teachers and their students who joined the meeting introduced themselves and followed the steps as we had planned in the previous teachers’ meetings successfully. My students were full of joy to host and meet 13 participants on screen and to show their European Languages Day poster. Children introduced themselves, some of them sang and danced and it was a genuine event and a good “ice breaker”. The English Educational Counselor of our region in Greece, Mrs Vicky Pappa joined the online meeting.

Etwinning project
European Languages Day 2024
Our school as the founder of the etwinning project is pleased to announce that it is hosting a teleconference with its etwinning partners on September 26, 2024 to celebrate European Languages Day. The 5th and 6th grade students will participate together with the organizer of the event and founding member of this European project Ms. Darlasi Irini, English teacher in their class. The students and teachers who will take part in the event are from the countries: Slovakia, Bulgaria, Italy (8 partners), Serbia, Poland (3 partners), Portugal (2 partners), Croatia, Romania, Jordan, Lithuania, Turkey, Spain and Georgia. During our communication, we will introduce our countries and the students will communicate in their native language and in English. We hope that this initiative will guide the children’s steps towards a dignified and cooperative future.

We are happy to post our etwinning collaborations with the following schools:

Etwinning project between Centrul Școlar pentru Educație Incluzivă ”Dumitru Ciumăgeanu” in Romania and Tegea Primary School in Greece
Title: Cyber Christmas cards
Our students come from Greece and Romania. Both Greek and Romanian pupils are in the 2nd grade. In the Greek school Primary School we’ve been working on safety on the internet since the beginning of the year. We would like to exchange Christmas cards with the Romanian 2nd graders with safety internet messages. The cards may be either crafts or electronic. In the The Romanian Primary School students with special needs are eager to use digital tools.
Οι μαθητές μας προέρχονται από την Ελλάδα και τη Ρουμανία. Τόσο οι Έλληνες όσο και οι Ρουμάνοι μαθητές είναι στη Β’ τάξη. Στο Ελληνικό Δημοτικό Σχολείο εργαζόμαστε για την ασφάλεια στο διαδίκτυο από την αρχή της χρονιάς. Θα θέλαμε να ανταλλάξουμε χριστουγεννιάτικες κάρτες με τους Ρουμάνους μαθητές της Β’ τάξης με μηνύματα ασφαλείας στο διαδίκτυο. Οι κάρτες μπορεί να είναι κατασκευές ή ηλεκτρονικές. Στο Ρουμανικό Δημοτικό Σχολείο, οι μαθητές με ειδικές ανάγκες είναι πρόθυμοι να χρησιμοποιήσουν τα ψηφιακά εργαλεία.
We are going to discuss in the classroom what we can advise our friends abroad as for their safety on the Net. The students will be able to review what they have already learnt and come up with interesting ideas for Christmas cards. We will decide what kind of material we will need and how many crafts will be sent either online or by mail. During our second lesson we are going to make the cards and finish them during the third lesson. We expect to be ready to send the Christmas cards between the 1st and 5th December. We will have a padlet where students can post drawings and messages.
Θα συζητήσουμε στην τάξη τι μπορούμε να συμβουλεύσουμε τους φίλους μας στο εξωτερικό για την ασφάλειά τους στο Διαδίκτυο. Οι μαθητές θα είναι σε θέση να αναθεωρήσουν όσα έχουν ήδη μάθει και να βρουν ενδιαφέρουσες ιδέες για χριστουγεννιάτικες κάρτες. Θα αποφασίσουμε τι είδους υλικό θα χρειαστούμε και πόσες χειροτεχνίες θα σταλούν είτε μέσω διαδικτύου είτε μέσω ταχυδρομείου. Κατά τη διάρκεια του δεύτερουμαθήματος θα φτιάξουμε τις κάρτες και να τις τελειώσουμε στο τρίτο μάθημα. Αναμένεται να είμαστε έτοιμοι να τις στείλουμε μεταξύ 1 και 5 Δεκεμβρίου. Θα έχουμε ένα padlet όπου οι μαθητές θα μπορούν να αναρτήσουν ζωγραφιές, κατασκευές και μηνύματα.
