🦃 What is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated mainly in the United States and Canada to give thanks for the good things in life—like family, friends, and food!
-
In the U.S., it’s celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.
-
In Canada, it’s celebrated on the second Monday of October.
🍁 Why Do We Celebrate It?
Thanksgiving began with the Pilgrims—the people who came to America from England in 1620. They had a hard winter, but with help from Native Americans, they learned to grow food. In 1621, they had a big meal together to celebrate their harvest. That was the first Thanksgiving!
