On Wednesbay 20 February 2013 ΑΓΑΦΡΟΝ  group came to our school.

They came here to plaint our schoolyard.They brought paints and brushes and wore old clothes.

We drew a lot of games on the ground such us ”snakes and ladders” and hopscotch.

We like the games we made and we  play every day.

Last month ST’ class visited the Antartica exhibition in Athens.

First of all we and our teachers took the bus.When we arrived in Athens we went to the exhibition.

Then a guide told us about Antartica.She showed us around.There were scientist uniforms in a room amd some students wore the uniforms. It was very funny!

Later we saw the scientist tents and the food which they eat.We visited the “temperature room”.It was very cold ! Brrrrr!!!We saw Antartica’s animals such as: penguins,whales and seals.We played games about Antartica we used the virtual snowmobile.

At the end we went to the projection room and we saw life in the south pole such as fishermen,icebergs,igloos,vegetation and snow.

It was an awesome experience.

Two weeks ago we went on a school trip to Athens because a theatre group put on a play and we went to watch it.It’s called ”Peter’s great walk”.

There were a lot of students from other schools.The play was about the life of a young boy during the second war.There were many actors playing the parts of different characters.

The customes were fantastic. The parts were very good! The play was a comedy and the music sounded very nice.During this theatrical play we felt how it was to live at these old times.

We hope that we will watch again an interesting theatrical play in the future.

A week ago we went on a school outing to St.George on foot.

We were walking for 45 minutes and then we arrived. When we arrived we played football,basketball and hide and seek.

The weather was sunny and we had a very good time and finally we returned to school on foot.

The 85th Academy Awards  is a glamorous night in Holywood . This year, there are 24 categories and 24 winners. The main award categores are: Best Picture , Actor in a Leading Role, Actress in Leading role, Actor in a Sypporting Role , Actress in a Supporting Role , Directing and Music .

The candidates of Best Picture were: Amour, Argo, Life of Pi , Beasts of the Southern Wild , Les Misérables , Django Unchained , Lincoln , Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty. The winner is Argo.

The next category is Actor in a Leading Role and the candidates were: Bradley Cooper , Daniel Day-Lewis , Hugh Jachman , Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington . The winner is Daniel Day-lewis.

The candidates for Actess in a Leading Actor are : Jessica Chastain , Jennifer Lawrence, Emmanuelle Riva,Quvenzhané Wallis and Naomi Watts. The winner is Jeniffer Lawrence.

Actor in a Supporting Role is the next category. The candidates were: Alan Arkin ,Robert De Niro , Philip  Seymour Hoffman, Tommy Lee Jones and Christoph Waltz. The winner of this category is Christoph Waltz.

The candidates for Actress in a Supporting Role were: Amy Adams, Sally Field , Anne Hathaway,Helen Hunt and Jacki Weaver. The winner is Anne Hathaway.

It’s winter and what better thing to do that go to the cinema!

For this reason I suggest you see exciting movies like Life of Pi , Upside Down or The Hobbit: An unexpected journey. So,I’m writing about them.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

This year we are working on a project with 15 schools from 13 European countries. And now we are showing you what we did.We did a skype session with  the class from Poland.We talked about their Christmas and our Christmas,and here are the differences and similarities.

POLAND

1) They decorate a tree in the house.

2) For Christmas dinner they eat 12 differents traditional dishes.

3) They sing carols at home after Christmas dinner.

4) They make gingerbread cookies and fruit cake.

5) They go to church.

6) Santa Claus doesn’t  come on Nea Year’s Eve, but he comes on  Christmas Eve.

7) In Zabor there isn’t a big tree in the centre of the town

8) On New Year’s Eve they do parties and throw fireworks.

9) The Christmas holidays last one week

GREECE

1) We decorate tree in our houses!!!

2) For Christmas dinner we eat turkey, salad, tzatziki, potatoes and cheese!!!

3) We sing carols on Christmas Eve morning and New Year’s Eve morning and Epiphane morning!!!

4) We make melomakarona, kourambiedes and diples!!!

5) We go to church!!!

6) Father Christmas comes on New Years Eve!!!

7) In Akrata we decorate a big tree in the center of the town!

8) On New Year’s Eve we eat with our family and we give presents!!!

9) Our Christmas holidays last two weeks

We like  this project , we feel happy.We want to talk again with another country. This project is interesting and we hope you like it.
