CLIMATE DETECTIVES 2026 – Team name: “The Emerald Stream Sentinels”
Our school, General Lyceum of Limena Thassos, is actively engaged in the Climate Detectives 2026 Program, an initiative by The European Space Agency (ESA) coordinated by Esero Greece. This program challenges students to contribute to research and conservation efforts for Earth’s environment and climate.
Our student team, ” The Emerald Stream Sentinels “, worked together into studying the way seasonal precipitation and human interventions (dams) affect the water extent and sediment transport of the Evros and Nestos river systems, and what is the current ecological state of the Vistonida and Ismarida wetlands as seen from space.
