Μπορούμε να μιλήσουμε για το μέλλον με τρεις τρόπους:

1. Simple Future: will + ρήμα (Το will και το ρήμα μένουν ίδια σε όλα τα πρόσωπα. Διαβάζουμε τον πίνακα στη σελ. 156 του Pupil’s Book.) Χρησιμοποιούμε το will:

• όταν η πρόταση αρχίζει με τις φράσεις I believe, I think, I hope

I think he will be at home tomorrow afternoon.

• όταν στην πρόταση υπάρχει το probably ή το perhaps

They will probably sell their house.

• όταν αποφασίζουμε να κάνουμε κάτι τη στιγμή που μιλάμε

• COMPARATIVE DEGREE (ΣΥΓΚΡΙΤΙΚΟΣ ΒΑΘΜΟΣ)

Συγκρίνουμε έναν άνθρωπο, ένα ζώο ή ένα αντικείμενο με κάποιο άλλο. Όταν έχουμε επίθετο στο συγκριτικό βαθμό, ακολουθεί η λέξη than (από).

Τα μονοσύλλαβα και δισύλλαβα επίθετα σχηματίζουν το συγκριτικό βαθμό με την κατάληξη – er.

fast – faster than: Peter is faster than Mary

narrow (στενός) – narrower than: This room is narrower than my bedroom.

Όταν το επίθετο λήγει σε – e, προσθέτουμε μόνο – r.

brave (γενναίος) – braver than: Superman is braver than Batman.

Τα επίθετα που τελειώνουν σε σύμφωνο + y σχηματίζουν το συγκριτικό βαθμό με την κατάληξη – ier αφού φύγει το y.

happy – happier than: Dana is happier than her sister.

Τα πολυσύλλαβα επίθετα και όσα λήγουν σε – ous, – ing, – ed, – ful, –less σχηματίζουν το συγκριτικό βαθμό με τη  βοήθεια της λέξης more.

famous – more famous: Is Nadal more famous than Tsitsipas?

interesting – more interesting: The book is more interesting than the film.

 

SUPERLATIVE DEGREE (ΥΠΕΡΘΕΤΙΚΟΣ ΒΑΘΜΟΣ)

Συγκρίνουμε έναν άνθρωπο, ένα ζώο ή ένα αντικείμενο με πολλά άλλα.  Όταν έχουμε επίθετο στον υπερθετικό βαθμό, ακολουθούν οι λέξεις in ή of.

Τα μονοσύλλαβα και δισύλλαβα επίθετα σχηματίζουν τον υπερθετικό βαθμό με το the και με την κατάληξη – est.

fast –  the fastest: Peter is the fastest of all the children.

narrow – the narrowest: This is the narrowest street in the city.

Όταν το επίθετο λήγει σε – e, προσθέτουμε μόνο – st.

brave – the bravest: You are the bravest man in the world.

Τα επίθετα που τελειώνουν σε σύμφωνο + y σχηματίζουν τον υπερθετικό βαθμό με την κατάληξη – iest αφού φύγει το y.

happy – the happiest than: Dana is the happiest baby in the room.
