We are thrilled to share with you a learning opportunity for expanding your teaching practices, gaining access to knowledge and resources that promote sustainability and Nature-Based Solution (NBS) education, and transforming your school into an NBS Living Lab.

Take part in the Scientix NBS Infrastructures Award, and you might be one of the 10 winners who will be invited to the upcoming NBS EduWORLD Summer School in Greece, between 29 June – 4 July 2025.

The two streams of the Scientix NBS Infrastructures Award, supported by NBS EduWORLD, will celebrate nature-based solutions (NBS) related to infrastructure in formal and non-formal education.

Stream 1 “NBS Infrastructure: Urban Scouter”:

1) scout the urban surroundings to discover any buildings or other infrastructures that are facing environmental and/or social challenges,

2) add a photo of them to the NBS Explorer App to find out how they could be improved through NBS,

3) post in the NBS EduWORLD Discussion Space how that has inspired formal or non-formal education activities, and add that post to the SDC25 Map.

Stream 2: “NBS Infrastructure: School improver”:

1) Identify parts of the school infrastructure in need of improvement (sports facilities, building, yard),

2) plan how they can be improved through nature-based solutions,

3) post about that on the SDC25 Map.

Prize:

– Winners (x2) at beginner/ advanced level of NBS will be invited to the upcoming 2025 Science Projects Workshop in Brussels;

– Winners (x10) at expert level of NBS will be invited to the upcoming 2025 NBS EduWORLD Summer School in Greece.

– Good practices will be disseminated via the NBS EduWORLD and Scientix channels, and the NBS EduWORLD Community in the Open Schools for Open Societies Portal.
