Το σχολείο μας συμμετείχε στον Εορτασμό της Ευρωπαϊκής Ημέρας Ξένων Γλωσσών 2023, μια γιορτή που διοργάνωσε για ακόμη μία χρονιά το Ευρωπαϊκό Κέντρο Σύγχρονων Γλωσσών, Οργανισμός του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης, ιδρυτικό μέλος του οποίου είναι και η χώρα μας. Στα πλαίσια της γιορτής αυτής, οι μαθητές των ΣΤ1 και ΣΤ2 τάξεων του σχολείου μας εξοικειώθηκαν με την έννοια θεσμού της  Ευρωπαϊκής Ημέρας και την έννοια της πολυγλωσσίας κατά τη διάρκεια του μαθήματος των Γαλλικών.

Στη συνέχεια, εστίασαν στο σλόγκαν της ϕετινής θεματικής της γιορτής «Λέμε Ναι στις γλώσσες!», ανακάλυψαν την απόδοσή του σε διάϕορες γλώσσες και τέλος το κάθε τμήμα αποτύπωσε τις ανακαλύψεις του πάνω σε έναν Ευρωπαϊκό χάρτη. Οι χάρτες, ως μορϕή ενθυμίου, βρίσκονται πλέον στο χώρο της κάθε σχολικής τάξης θυμίζοντάς τους την όλη εμπειρία.

Η περιγραϕή και τα στιγμιότυπα της δράσης του σχολείου μας θα αναρτηθούν και στην επίσημη ιστοσελίδα του Ευρωπαϊκού Κέντρου Σύγχρονων Γλωσσών, μαζί με όλες εκείνες των άλλων Ευρωπαϊκών σχολείων που συμμετείχαν κι αυτά στη ϕετινή δράση.

Short description of the project

The students were first familiarised with the concept of the celebration of the European Day of Languages as well as the different languages spoken in Europe through the online quizzes of the European Council. Then, they were invited to choose each a country on the classroom’s map. After having decided which country each student would represent, they translated this year’s motto with the aid of the Google translate web tool. They discovered how the motto was written and learned its pronunciation. They then digitalised (copy and paste) the motto, all students in a uniform way as far as the fonts were concerned and printed their productions. They then were invited to fill their printed motto with colour, cut it out and stick it on a European map after having done a search as to the location of the country on the map. Last but not least, they put their works in a frame, which now decorates their classroom and brings memories of the experience.
