Within the framework of an environmental programme called “ENO-Environment online” 5th Grade and 6th Grade students studying English at the State Primary School of Megalo Kefalovrysso in Trikala took part in the 4th Language Festival organised by Colegio Publico Federico Romero de la Solana in an effort to:

• integrate and strengthen multilingualism at school
• develop a European dimension through the study of a variety of foreign languages
• develop their communicative and artistic competence
• sensitize the educational and local communities about the value of foreign language learning

Our students created a poster in English about the protection of the environment, which they sent to the Spanish school and then had the idea of singing a famous Greek song, “Τα παιδιά του Πειραιά”, so as to initiate the Spanish students into the Greek language. They had a blast working together and using the foreign language to achieve an authentic communicative purpose!
