HOW ARE YOU SMART ?
Multiple intelligences theory

We know that all people are different. Likewise, every child is special and unique. However, sometimes classmates, friends and family tend to consider pupils that do not do well at school subjects as inadequate or even stupid. Well, they couldn’t be more wrong. Research has shown that there are eight different kinds of intelligence and that we are all smart, just in different ways.

1. A child can be nature smart. He/She can discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and be sensitive to other features of the natural world (clouds, formations). Such people can become geologists, botanists or chefs.

2. There are also children that can understand pitch, rhythm and tone better than others. They are musical smart. They can recognize, create and reproduce music. These pupils may become composers, conductors, musicians, vocalists and sensitive listeners –a skill essential to psychologists.
3. Some children are number or reasoning smart. They are able to calculate, make hypotheses and solve mathematical problems easily. Logical intelligence is usually well developed in mathematicians, scientists and detectives.

4. People smart are children who understand others and communicate with them effectively. They know how others feel in particular situations, they understand the mood they’re in and can help people with their problems. Teachers, social workers and politicians usually have this kind of intelligence.

5. Athletes, dancers, surgeons and craftspeople are body smart. They control their body well and they exhibit body and mind union.

6. Children who can express their feelings, thoughts and ideas through language are word smart pupils, They may become poets, novelists, journalists and public speakers.

7. Self smart are people who understand themselves, their own thoughts and feelings. They use their skill to plan their lives and set goals. They may be shy when they’re young. We can see this kind of intelligence in psychologists, spiritual leaders and philosophers.

8. Children who have a better understanding of space and dimensions are picture smart. They have an active imagination, they are artistic and may spend their free time drawing or daydreaming. Sailors, pilots, sculptors, painters and architects are picture smart.

Of course people are far too complex to have only one kind of intelligence. We exhibit all of them to a certain degree but some are more predominant. So, HOW ARE YOU SMART?
