We understand that more and more students experience bullying in the school environment, mainly verbally, but also physically and through the Internet. According to research data, Greece is the 4th out of 41 countries, where students have been involved in bullying, either as victims or as bullies. We’d like to implement an educational programme to prevent bullying and nip negative behaviour in the bud. Aiming at our grade 3 pupils (aged 9), we’re thinking of starting with “the King of the Playground” by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.

The King is an appropriate springboard for feelings discussion.
